Een Kapel van Faller in een Berglandschap XIII. / A Chapel of Faller in a Mountain Landscape XIII.

Ik maak een model van een kapel (de St-Bernhard kapel van Faller).  Ik ben van plan het in een berglandschapje te zetten met bomen, gras, rotsen, mos en een aantal wandelaars.  Ik kan dit doen door verschillende technieken te gebruiken uit de tijd dat ik aquariumdecors bouwde.

I'm making a model of a chapel (the St-Bernhard chapel of Faller).  I'm intending to present it in a mountain landscape with trees, gras, rocks, moss and a number of people who are making a walk.  I'll be able to do this, using different techniques from the days that I used to build the decors of aquariums.

Vandaag heb ik de PU-foam in m'n mal gespoten, het resultaat gezien en de mal afgebroken.

Today, I've sprayed the PU-foam in my template, I've seen the result and took down the template.

Ziezo, ik heb de PU-schuim in m'n mal gespoten.  De PU-schuim moet nog drogen, een proces waarbij hij zeker in volume verdubbelt. / I've spayed the PU-foam in my template.  The PU-foam has to dry, a process by which it doubles its size.

Maar het resultaat valt tegen.  Het hoogste punt is in het midden.  Dus spuit ik wat bij. / But the result doesn't convince me.  The highest point is in the middle of the foam.  So, I use some additional PU-foam.

Ondertussen breek ik m'n tweede mal af, aangezien ik hem toch niet nodig heb. / In the meantime, I take apart my second template, since I don't need it.

's Morgens ziet de schuim er zo uit. / In the morning, my foam looks like this.

Ik begin m'n mal te demonteren. / I start to disassemble my template.

Ik haal er eerst de moeren af. / First I unscrew the bolts.

Dan hamer ik de vijzen in de schuim en gebruik deze schroevendraaier om de ellebogen los te wrikken. / Then, I hammer the screws into the foam and use this screwdriver to pry the 'elbows' loose.

De eerste kant is eraf. / The first side has come loose.

De tweede zijde ook. / The second side, too.

Op het einde blijft dit over. / In the end, this remains.

M'n eerste mal met de instrumenten nodig om hem uit elkaar te halen. / My first template with the tools needed to take it apart.

Morgen begin ik m'n landschap uit de schuim te snijden.  Hier het gereedschap dat ik daarvoor zal gebruiken. / Tomorrow, I start to cut my landscape out of the foam.  Here you can see the tools that I'll use in order to do it.
